J. Crew did something different this year for New York Fashion Week. Instead of casting the typical "skinny mini" models to debut their Spring/Summer 2017 Collections, they chose normal people to show off the collection. Models included J. Crew journalists and staffers, as well as friends of the brand, ages 13-70.
The collection featured sequins, stripes, and polka dots which seems to be trending with a lot of the SS17 Collections. Featuring ruffly skirts, wrap-around apron dresses, pom pom balls, splatter paint, and lots of denim and neutrals, The collection was definitely refreshing with fun, quirky, and wearable pieces.
The easy-breezy, all-American brand really did it for me guys. Might be one of my favorite collections I've seen thus far at fashion week!
